ASL: “Many cases, but the contagion curve remains stable”

Viterbo – With the new Dpcm Lazio returns to the yellow band, which is the one with a softer increase in restrictions. But Tuscia, where 3,282 cases of Coronavirus have been found since October 5, remains under special surveillance.

Also yesterday, Wednesday, November 4, in the province of Viterbo, together with that of Frosinone, the highest increase in infections in Lazio was registered in a single day: 229. The capital, with its 68 new infections, is still the leading municipality : Also since October 5, 1,083 cases have been registered in the city.

Belcolle hospital is under pressure and the bed occupancy rate is high (one hundred Covid). As of yesterday, there were 96 hospitalized: 86 among the Covid Medicine and Infectious Diseases wards and ten (of the 12 places available, but which should reach about twenty) in intensive care.

But in Tuscia, at least for the moment, no further measures are planned. And it is ASL that explains why: “The infections that we are experiencing every day are many, but in the last fifteen days they have fluctuated between 100 and 230. We see that the epidemic curve does not grow but remains stable, although in important numbers. “

In addition, in the last month about 20 thousand tampons have been manufactured, with an average of 800 per day. The positive rate on the total is around 10%. “The processing of the tests – emphasized by the Local Health Authority – does not follow a chronological order but rather a priority, ranging from symptomatic to contacts of already established cases. Obviously in these situations the probability of finding people who have contracted the virus is greater. In short, the figures that we have been recording for a few weeks are also the result of this work that the company is doing ”.

However, Tuscia remains under control and constantly monitored. “The objective – they conclude from the ASL – is not to increase the curve but to make it more stable and start to lower it. If in the 800 ‘usual’ swabs we found 400 cases a day, at that moment the concern and alertness would grow ”.

Yesterday the city of Viterbo (+68 infections) reached a thousand positives today: in the entire province there are 2,972. Mayor Giovanni Arena postponed the decision on a possible closure of kindergartens and compulsory schools for the weekend. “Reading the data from the last three days,” the mayor explains, “in reference to students, there is evidence of a decrease in cases. This leads me, at least for this week, to postpone the adoption of any closure measures. If in the next few days there are new spikes of infections among the students, I will proceed to adopt the measures that I consider most appropriate ”.

In Tuscia black jersey also in Civita Castellana and Montefiascone where the positives are currently more than one hundred: 193 and 149 respectively.
