1,828 new cases and 58 deaths

Today there are 1,828 new positive cases of coronavirus (1,426 identified in the course of screening and 402 of detection activities) out of a total of 52,815 cases registered since the beginning of the epidemic.

New cases are 3.6% more than the total of the previous day. The average age of 1,828 cases today is approximately 43 years (18% are under 20, 25% between 20 and 39, 34% between 40 and 59, 16% between 60 and 79, 7% have 80 years or older).

Those cured grew 1.4% and reached 15,890 (30.1% of the total number of cases). The swabs performed reached 1,148,233, 15,086 more than yesterday.

7953 subjects were tested (excluding control swabs), of which 23% were positive. To these are added the 875 rapid antigenic swabs that are carried out today.

The positives are currently 35,464 today, + 4.6% compared to yesterday. There are 1,516 hospitalized (65 more than yesterday), of which 197 in intensive care (7 more).

Today there are 58 new deaths: 33 men and 25 women with an average age of 76.7 years. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 24 in Florence, 9 in Prato, 7 in Pistoia, 2 in Massa Carrara, 6 in Lucca, 4 in Pisa, 4 in Livorno, 2 in Arezzo.

These are the data – verified today at 12 o’clock based on requests from the National Civil Protection – referring to the advance of the epidemic in the region.

It should be remembered that as of June 24, 2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated by province of notification, but by province of residence or domicile.

The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 15,618 cases in total to date in Florence (421 more than yesterday), 4,343 in Prato (148 more), 4,169 in Pistoia (164 more), 3,137 in Massa (50 more), 5,038 in Lucca (167 more).

In addition: 6,734 in Pisa (336 more), 3,773 in Livorno (123 more), 5,247 in Arezzo (282 more), 2,245 in Siena (69 more), 1,583 in Grosseto (68 more).

555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions. Therefore, there are 733 cases found today in the Central Local Health Authority, 676 in the Northwest, 419 in the Southeast.

Covid: 147 contagion tracers on the way

Tuscany ranks eighth in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 1,406 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 1,259 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure).

The notification provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 1,685 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Massa Carrara with 1,610, Pisa with 1,607, and Grosseto the lowest with 714.

Hospitalizations, isolations, cures

In total, 33,948 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (1,482 more than yesterday, 4.6% more).

There are 34,518 (1,685 more than yesterday, plus 5.1%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance, for having had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 12,324, Northwest 14,338, Southeast 7,856).

The people hospitalized in the beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 1,516 (65 more than yesterday, + 4.5%), 197 in intensive care (7 more than yesterday, + 3.7%).

The total number of cured people is 15,890 (223 more than yesterday, plus 1.4%): 716 clinically cured people (stable compared to yesterday), that is, who were asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection and 15,174 ( 223 more compared to yesterday, plus 1.5%) declared fully cured, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.

Deceased

1,461 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 532 in Florence, 82 in Prato, 106 in Pistoia, 201 in Massa Carrara, 167 in Lucca, 128 in Pisa, 90 in Livorno, 77 in Arezzo, 37 in Siena , 27 in Grosseto, 14 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 39.2 x 100,000 residents versus 65.3 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region).
