Lombardy, Piedmont and Calabria at risk of red zone. But Veneto could be in the orange zone. In the evening, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte will sign the new decree containing even stricter anti-Covid measures to try to contain the second wave of coronavirus infections in Italy. But above all, and this is the novelty, the document provides different rules for the areas, called red, orange and green.
Red regions
The so-called “soft” blockade will be applied in the red zone, in which Lombardy, Piedmont and Calabria (and Alto Adige and Valle d’Aosta could also be included): only industries and schools will remain open up to sixth grade. The rest will follow the lessons from home. All stores closed, including hairdressers and beauticians. There will be no closure for essential services, obviously pharmacies and supermarkets will be open to the public like last March. The restrictive measure of limiting travel to and from high-risk regions, in the “red” zone, but also in those within the so-called “orange” zone, must be confirmed.
Orange regions
The second area is the orange one, which includes Puglia, Liguria and Campania and perhaps also the Veneto: the restaurants remain closed, their blinds remain closed all day and no longer only after 6 pm However, the hairdressers and beauty centers They’re safe. Therefore, in addition to the lockdown of the premises, the general rules remain in force. Here dad will be alone for high school, students will be able to attend until the eighth grade. Movements between municipalities could also stop in areas that fall into ‘orange’ regions, or where the risk of Covid is intermediate, but for now it remains one of the hypotheses on the government table.
Green regions
And finally, the last zone is the green one, with less rigid but even more restrictive rules than the decree of last October 24. Here falls the rest of Italy. There will be less shopping because shopping centers will be closed on weekends, public transport will be cut in half. After the closure of cinemas and theaters another blow to culture: even museums remain closed. At 10 p.m., then, the day ends: everyone inside when the national curfew begins, except, of course, for health or work reasons. And again with regard to travel, it will only be possible to move between ‘green’ regions: self-certification
Therefore, only the ‘red’ Regions will enter a kind of lockdown that in many ways is reminiscent of last spring. And in these territories the use of self-certification is discussed, in a modified version, much desired by Minister Speranza. Of course, you will have to fill it out and show it when you have to leave after 9pm or 10pm, which is when the national curfew begins.
