But that is not all. The Ats, also in the email, goes on to explain that if the patient believes, “the swab can be performed privately in an authorized laboratory, according to the calendar indicated by the Ministry of Health.” In other words, the Milan Health Protection Agency suggested a positive patient, waiting for a second swab, to test privately, for a fee. Lombard’s healthcare failure – wrote Goisis accompanying his post – is certified and self-declared in this email, received from a friend of mine. ‘Dear positive, we cannot give you the second swab. If you want you can do it privately, spending from 80 euros onwards. It is a cost that the public system should bear, but we are disorganized, I am sorry, so you have to pay it. Or read the following lines that we write to you: yes, it is true, they are poorly written, with too many technical terms and the period is confusing, but you know how it is, we were in a hurry.
