New record of infections in Apulia: according to the latest bulletin issued by the Department of Health Promotion, today 772 new cases are registered: 359 in the province of Bari, 86 in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani, 39 in the province of Brindisi 117 in the province of Foggia, 39 in the province of Lecce, 127 in the Tarantino, 4 outside the region and 1 of unknown residence.

Once again, the death toll is dramatic: with 13 confirmed today (3 in Bari, 7 in Foggiano, 1 in Bat, 1 in Brindisi and one in the province of Taranto), the number of deaths has risen to 699 since emergency start.

The number of active cases (9,437) has also risen dramatically and is rapidly approaching 10,000. Of these, 760 people are hospitalized (+63 compared to yesterday), while 8,677 are in home isolation. Instead, 6,217 people have recovered from the infection.

537,592 tests have been carried out since the emergency began. The total of positive cases of Covid in Apulia is 16,353, divided as follows: 6,883 in the province of Bari, 1,732 in the province of Bat, 1,120 in the province of Brindisi, 3,808 in the province of Foggia, 1,173 in the province of Lecce, 1,518 in the province of Taranto, 118 attributed to residents outside the region and 1 of unknown residence.

“The increasing number of cases per day creates a worrying scenario. Although in fact many of these positive cases refer to subjects who do not have particular health problems, a significant percentage in the coming days will have to seek medical attention, further increasing the pressure on the hospital system. We work incessantly on two fronts: strengthening contact tracing activities in the territory and preparing the hospital system to adapt to the progressive wave of cases. We renew our appeal to citizens to limit any social contact to a minimum and strictly comply with hygiene standards, ”declared the councilor for health policies Pier Luigi Lopalco.
