The decree approved by the government on Sunday contains restrictions for the world of restoration. In addition to the early closing at 6pm for bars, pastry shops, ice cream parlors, pubs, pizzerias, restaurants, which may continue to operate offering home delivery service and sale of food and beverages to take away (do not consume on site or near), the dpcm anti Covid it also sets limitations on the number of guests allowed at the table.
Since Monday, the ‘rule of four’ was implemented in all public places: from 5 to 18, until next November 24, expiration date of the benefit, it will be possible to sit at the table in four. People must also be well separated from each other. In fact, if in the previous dpcm it was allowed to seat a maximum of six clients at the table, the new rule provided for an additional restriction.
It remains the obligation of restaurateurs to publish the number of people who can stay inside while outside the facilities. Then the blinds will have to be lowered at 6 p.m. – a few minutes of tolerance are expected, as explained in a circular from the Ministry of the Interior – and after that time table service will no longer be allowed. Thus, whoever dines in the restaurant, or has breakfast at the bar, can do so with up to 3 friends or family. The ‘rule of 4’ does not apply to partners, roommates or members of the same household. In short, if clients live under the same roof, they can sit down without having to respect the interpersonal distance of at least one meter. Only in these cases is it possible to sit at the table in more than four.
Naturally, the obligation to wear a mask to cover your nose and mouth remains in force when you are not sitting at the table, to pay at the cashier or when getting up for any reason. Those who do not respect the new regulations run the risk of heavy administrative sanctions: the fine ranges between 400 and 1000 euros, to which the suspension of the activity can be added up to 5 days, if the security forces that carry out the control believe that there may be a risk of repetition or continuation of prohibited conduct.
Refering to meetings or parties at homeThis is not a real ban, but there is a strong recommendation for citizens, who are invited to refrain from receiving family or friends as a precautionary measure. In this case, as the Ministry of the Interior recalled yesterday, with a circular sent to the prefects, “the provisions of the Dpcm made explicit in the form of a recommendation do not give rise to the imposition of sanctions in the case of dissimilar behaviors.” In short, there is no fine for anyone organizing a party or dinner at home.
