Coronavirus, the update of the infections in Palermo and Sicily to October 24, 2020

Coronavirus infections continue to increase in Sicily: according to the Ministry of Health bulletin there are 886 new cases on the island (yesterday there were 730). In the last 24 hours, 7,147 swabs were processed, almost a thousand less than on Friday.

Also in Sicily there are nine other deaths that bring the total number of victims since the beginning of the pandemic to 417. As every day it must be remembered that the Region no longer provides information on the deceased, limiting itself (sometimes) to only giving the province in which death occurs.

There are currently 606 people hospitalized with symptoms of Covid, ninety are in intensive care (one more person than yesterday). There are 9,193 subjects in home isolation. There are also 124 cured (totaling 5,896). The current positive points on the island are therefore 9,899. Since the beginning of the pandemic in Sicily, 16,202 total cases of Covid have been recorded.

The situation in the rest of Italy

Today there are 19,644 new cases and 151 deaths. More than 79 hospitalized in intensive care than yesterday. In Lombardy almost 5 thousand cases and more than 200 hospitalized in intensive care: 2306 cases only in the province of Milan. The coronavirus does not stop its race in either Veneto or Tuscany, where another 1,729 and 1,526 new cases are recorded in today’s bulletin, respectively. More than 1000 cases also in Emilia Romagna. Record in Abruzzo. 1,700 new cases also in Campania, 1,500 in Piedmont.
