Clashes in Naples for the confinement, De Luca does not change line: «Unworthy spectacle. But the government supports families “

The president of the Campania region, Vincenzo De Luca: talks about the clashes that occurred last night in Naples during the protest for the closure:

«Last night in Naples we witnessed an unworthy spectacle of violence and organized urban guerrilla – said the governor – that has nothing to do with social categories. Yesterday the same ordinances were applied to Milan, Rome and Naples. And while in Milan and Rome the cities were deserted by the rules, in Naples there was violence and vandalism. Several hundred criminals have tainted the image of the city. We want to clarify that: the protagonists of these episodes have nothing to do with the economic categories and with the citizens of Naples, which in recent months have given an extraordinary test of self-discipline and responsibility, and which we will fully protect at the health and social level.».

«We will continue to follow our penalty line, without changing a comma, as is our duty. From this moment on, we ask the Government to commit itself: to guarantee legality and compliance with the laws; Immediately develop a socio-economic support plan for productive categories and families. This support is an absolute priority, as are health measures, as we did in Campania with an economic and social plan adopted at the same time as the restrictive measures. As of today we will not accept delays and interlocutions if the social issue is not addressed immediately. We request an ad-hour meeting with the Government on these points.».
