Covid: Lombardy, reduced ordinary surgical activity – Ultima Ora

[ad_1]

(ANSA) – MILAN, OCTOBER 23 – The Lombardy Region has decided to gradually reduce the activities of ordinary surgery, or rather deferred scheduled operations (therefore no emergencies).

The reduction varies from one hospital to another depending on the situation of each individual.

Hospitals are being remodeled due to the increase in coronavirus cases. In San Raffaele, one of the two intensive care departments built in tensioned structures was reopened last spring thanks to donations collected with the campaign launched by Chiara Ferragni and Fedez.

There are currently eight patients, six from the San Raffaele emergency room and two from other hospitals, hospitalized in the larger of the two ‘balloons’ installed in the university’s sports fields, to avoid hospitalizing Covid patients. , preserving the rest of the patients and the rest of the activities.

From Niguarda, where we went from two Covid positives a week to the emergency room last summer to an average of thirty a day, a call came via Facebook: “to manage this difficult situation, our commitment is not enough, we need an additional effort on our part of all. We entrust ourselves to the responsibility and conscience of each one, in following the rules and recommendations and avoiding, as far as possible, all those activities, potentially at risk, that are not strictly necessary ”.
