Coronavirus infections in Italy continue to increase: according to the bulletin of the Ministry of Health in the last 24 hours they have been identified 16,079 new cases, almost a thousand more than yesterday, but with approx 7,500 fewer buffers (170,392 vs. 177,848). The total number of infected people, including victims and those cured, amounts to 465,726.
The number of victims is also growing: 136 in one day, while yesterday there were 127, for a total that reached 36,968.
Almost ten thousand people are now hospitalized in ordinary hospital wards due to Covid 19: the bulletin of the Ministry of Health indicates 9,694, with an increase of 637 in the last 24 hours. Intensive care is also growing, with 66 more patients than yesterday for a total of 992 while the positives are currently 169,302, with an increase of 13,860 in one day. There are 158,616 people in home isolation, 13,157 more. Finally, the total of discharged and cured patients amounted to 259,456, with an increase of 2,082.
The proportion of swab positive cases is again 9.4%.. It is the same figure as four days ago, the highest figure of this second wave, “Despite a slight decrease registered in the last two days, the weekly trend is of strong growth and the proof is that in one week it has almost doubled. Also for this parameter we have a doubling time close to seven days” , he pointed out.
