A COVID-19-positive girl was abandoned at the children’s hospital by a woman who told emergency room doctors that she was the mother. After six days of hospitalization in the room with the girl, the woman disappeared from the hospital and is nowhere to be found.
“The medical staff tried for days to contact the woman – explains Dr. Marilù Furnari, from Di Cristina’s health department – but we could not locate her. At that moment we warned the police of the possible abandonment of the little girl ”.
