“Patients are waiting – adds Collodoro – because within the emergency area, dedicated exclusively to positive Covid, there are already 31 patients who are being treated by health professionals. The serious situation requires that some other emergency room in the city treat these six people immediately and give a break to the Cívico medical colleagues who have already been working under great stress for four days, “he concludes.
“In the emergency room of the Arnas Civico hospital in Palermo we hope to return to normal tonight, after the strong pressure of the last days,” says Renato Costa, coordinator of the Covid emergency in Palermo. For more than three days, the emergency room of the most important hospital in the south, after the “Cardarelli” in Naples, has been open only for Covid positive patients.
“The situation is returning to normal, we continue to do hospitalizations in Partinico and for Palermo and the other Sicilian cities we are evaluating with the councilor a broad screening of the population as it is living in the small islands”, adds Costa.
