Rome, October 19, 2020 – The new Dpcm Oct 18, 2020 containing more restrictive measures to cope with the second wave of the epidemic Coronavirus in Italy (here the data for October 17) was published – after the signature of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and Minister of Health Roberto Speranza – in the Official bulletin and therefore it has already entered into force from today until November 13.

The text contains rules for avoid meetings and nightlife (possibility of closing streets and squares at 9pm but the word ‘mayors’ disappears, bars and restaurants open until midnight but close at 6pm without table service); Rules on contact sports: stop at provincial amateur level competitions. And in the school it anticipates that the entrances to the secondary school are realized from the 9.

1) School
Everybody secondary schools In grade II, it is advisable to increase the use of digital teaching, alternating with face-to-face, and modulate the entry and exit of students, in the afternoon and in the morning not before 9 am. In presence, the services of the first cycle of education and childcare.
2) Bars and restaurants
If you can consume at the table, bars, ice cream parlors, pubs and restaurants will be open from 5 to 24. Close at 6 pm where you can only eat at the counter. Each table cannot have more than 6 people seated. Ok for food delivery and take away (until midnight), but without eating near the premises.
3) Cinemas and theaters
The Dpcm does not block programs with limited numbers in theater, in cinemas and concert halls (max. 200 people) or outdoors (max. 1,000) if the safety distance is respected. The city’s festivals and fairs are prohibited, but national events are not. The bingo rooms close at 9pm.
4) Gyms and swimming pools
Gyms, swimming pools, sports centers and clubs, public and private, will not close. But they have “a week” to adjust if they don’t respect the protocols. In contrast, basic amateur sports activity is only allowed on an individual basis. Stop at all the amateur races and competitions.

The government has empowered mayors (however, the word has disappeared from the final text) to close to the publicAfter 9 pm, streets or squares where gatherings can be created, without prejudice to the passage to businesses and private homes. In the new Dpcm there are no more restrictions for buses, trams and metro: the rules already contained in the previous provisions continue to apply.
