Covid: Over 40 Million Cases Worldwide – Latest Hour

(ANSA) – PARIS, OCTOBER 19 – There are more than 40 million cases of coronavirus in the world since the start of the pandemic, according to an AFP count.

Worldwide, 40,000,234 infections and 1,113,896 deaths have been recorded. The most affected countries are the United States with 8,154,935 infections, India with 7,550,273 and Brazil 5,235,344. In the past seven days alone, more than 2.5 million cases have been reported, the highest weekly number since Covid-19 emerged in China late last year.

The increase in data can be partly explained by the large increase in swabs performed in some countries and probably does not include less severe or asymptomatic cases that have not been confirmed by a test. (HANDLE).
