Amateur football, basketball and volleyball matches (in all their forms) are not allowed. To be clear, challenges between friends are prohibited. But the new Dpcm extends the prohibitions also to the amateur sector. Not all. There was a heated tug of war between the Minister of Sport, Spadafora on the one hand, and the Minister of Health, Speranza and the technicians of the CTS on the other to avoid the stoppage of an entire sector that represents the basis of sport. And above all, guarantee the survival of companies that are already in serious crisis after the first closure.

Dpcm, the new rules: here is the quick guide of the ministry

Dpcm anti Covid. Movida, the City Council of Rome studies the strait: red zones in places at risk

First, a premise must be established. In Italy, according to Law 81 of 1981 that regulates professionalism, there are only 4 sports considered professional: soccer, basketball, golf and cycling. The rest are all amateurs. Different speech for women who are not recognized as professionals. To be clear: Federica Pellegrini is not one of the professionals. The fans are an endless galaxy that encompasses about 20 million practitioners, 5 million registered. One million play soccer.

That said, in the end it was decided to stop amateur activity down to the provincial level. But what does it mean? The text specifies that “only events and competitions of regional and national interest are allowed”, while “basic amateur sports, schools and initial training activities related to contact sports are only allowed individually and not for races and competitions ».

Translated: Sports clubs and associations and promotion bodies will continue the formation of team sports, but only individually, like the Serie A teams at the beginning of phase two. To give an example: the team of a football school for very young children or pigeons may continue training, but without playing games. All the races of the Third Category and in some regions of the Second are stopped (because in some Regions it is provincial).

THE MESSAGE FROM SPADAFORA

“I fought to reach this election but we must all be aware of the difficult moment for the country, which must force us to strictly observe the protocols. Furthermore, no scientific evidence reports outbreaks in relation to individual training in controlled settings. It would have been worse to push thousands of fans and young people to city parks than to continue in places that respect rules and protocols.
