I am today 906 new cases of positivity for Coronavirus (849 identified in the course of screening and 57 in screening activities) out of a total of cases registered since the beginning of the epidemic, equivalent to 22,802 units. New cases are 4.1% more than the total of the previous day. The average age of 906 cases today is approximately 42 years (22% are under 20 years old, 25% between 20 and 39, 31% between 40 and 59, 16% between 60 and 79, 6% are 80 years or plus).
Those cured grew by 1.4% and reached 11,622 (51% of all cases). The swabs performed reached 917,245, 13,380 more than yesterday. 8,981 subjects were tested (excluding control swabs), of which 10.1% were positive. Today’s current positives are 9,986, + 8% compared to yesterday. There are 440 hospitalized (46 more than yesterday), of which 55 in intensive care (5 more). Today there are 5 new deaths: a man and 4 women with an average age of 89.4 years, in Florence.
These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – related to the advance of the epidemic in the region.
It should be remembered that as of June 24, 2020, the Ministry of Health changed the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated by province of notification, but by province of residence or domicile.
THE CONTAGIO CITY BY CITY
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change compared to yesterday. There are 6,520 cases in total to date in Florence (314 more than yesterday), 1,543 in Prato (50 more), 1,599 in Pistoia (105 more), 1,856 in Massa (27 more), 2,609 in Lucca (78 more), 2,889 in Pisa (133 more), 1,176 in Livorno (53 more), 2,127 in Arezzo (84 more), 1,139 in Siena (34 more), 794 in Grosseto (28 more). There are 550 positive cases reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions. There are 469, therefore, the cases found today in the ASL Center, 291 in the Northwest, 146 in the Southeast.
Tuscany is confirmed in tenth place in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 611 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 667 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The reporting provinces with the highest rate are Massa Carrara with 952 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 689, Lucca with 673, Livorno with 351 the lowest.
IN ISOLATION
In total, 9,546 people are isolated at home, since they present mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not present symptoms (693 more than yesterday, 7.8% more).
There are 16,881 people (378 less than yesterday, less 2.2%) people, also isolated, in active surveillance, for having had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 6,344, Northwest 6,128, Southeast 4,409).
THE ADMISSIONS
People hospitalized in beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 440 (46 more than yesterday, plus 11.7%), 55 in intensive care (5 more than yesterday, plus 10%).
THE HEALED
In total there are 11,622 people cured (162 more than yesterday, plus 1.4%): 460 people clinically cured (43 more than yesterday, plus 10.3%), that is, they were left asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with Infection and 11,162 (119 more than yesterday, more 1.1%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.
DEATH
Today there are 5 new deaths: a man and 4 women with an average age of 89.4 years. As for the province of residence, the deceased are in Florence. 1,194 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 436 in Florence, 54 in Prato, 84 in Pistoia, 183 in Massa Carrara, 149 in Lucca, 100 in Pisa, 65 in Livorno, 55 in Arezzo, 33 in Siena , 26 in Grosseto, 9 people died on Tuscan soil but they were residents outside the region.
The Tuscan crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 32.0 x 100,000 residents versus 60.4 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (93.9 x 100 000), Florence (43.1 x 100 000) and Lucca (38.4 x 100 000), the lowest in Grosseto (11.7 x 100,000).
