Viterbo – We receive and publish – I have convened for tomorrow morning at 11 the commission representing the mayors for health to discuss and evaluate the question of distance education for secondary schools.

At the meeting I also invited the mayors of the towns of the province that host secondary schools in their municipalities, namely Acquapendente, Bagnoregio, Bassano Romano, Caprarola, Civita Castellana, Montalto, Montefiascone, Nepi, Orte, Ronciglione, Tarquinia, Tuscania , Vetralla to participate online. , Vignanello. The school system is working. And for this I want to congratulate the director of the Peroni provincial school, with all the school directors, teachers and collaborators for how strictly they are applying the protocols within the schools.

Many infections are prevented by following these security measures. My congratulations also go to the students themselves who responsibly respect the rules within the schools. The problem is outside. What worries the most is the movement of thousands of students on public transport, necessary to reach their schools. Situation in which it is not always possible to respect the distance between children, despite themselves.

The phases of entry and exit from the schools of the students themselves are also worrying, particularly risky moments in terms of the transmission of the virus, linked to humanly natural attitudes, but not justifiable, and in this period unfortunately dangerous and contagious.

The meeting will be useful to discuss the increase in infections in recent days and to reach a shared decision on a possible resumption of distance education for secondary schools.

Mayor of Viterbo
