Covid starts again strong: 544 new cases, one death and +12 in intensive care

BOLOGNA. Since the start of the coronavirus epidemic, 39,692 positive cases have been registered in Emilia-Romagna, 544 more than yesterday, of the 13,563 swabs made. Yesterday, the infections were 453 out of 12,631 swabs. The swabs made today were 13,563, for a total of 1,352,796. To these are added 2,998 serological tests. A week ago the positives were about half. Active cases, that is, the number of real patients, is 8,033 to date (512 more than those registered yesterday).

Unfortunately, there is 1 new death: it is a 95-year-old woman, in the province of Piacenza.

There are 61 patients in intensive care (+12 compared to yesterday) and 404 (+12 again from yesterday) hospitalized in the other Covid wards.

Of the new positives, 252 are asymptomatic. The average age of new positives today is 38 years.

Regarding the situation in the provinces, the highest figures are registered in Bologna (110), Reggio Emilia (77), Piacenza (61), Modena (58), Parma (58), Rimini (56), Ferrara (45), in Forlì (34), Ravenna (23), in Cesena (11).

In Bologna there are 110 new cases (53 symptomatic and 57 asymptomatic). Of the 110 new cases, 45 are attributable to identified outbreaks (mainly family members, friends, by frequency of public places, schools, workplaces, private parties) and 65 are sporadic. Of the total number, 1 case was imported from abroad (Poland) and 3 from other Italian regions.

People in isolation at home, or those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are asymptomatic, are a total of 7,568 (+488 compared to yesterday), more than 95% of active cases.

In the territory, the 61 people admitted to intensive care are distributed as follows: 5 in Piacenza (stable compared to yesterday), 5 in Parma (stable compared to yesterday), 2 in Reggio Emilia (stable compared to yesterday ), 6 in Modena (one less than yesterday), 27 in Bologna (+11 more than yesterday); 1 in Imola (stable compared to yesterday), 3 in Ferrara (+2); 3 in Ravenna (stable compared to yesterday), 3 in Forlì (stable compared to yesterday), 2 in Cesena (number unchanged compared to yesterday) and 4 in Rimini (unchanged compared to yesterday).

The total of people cured amounted to 27,155 (+31 compared to yesterday): 7 “clinically cured”, that is, they became asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection, and 27,148 those declared completely cured because they tested negative in two consecutive tests.
