Stop the visits of friends and family in the RSA of Tuscany: this is what establishes an ordinance signed by the president of the Region Eugenio Giani. The new provisions, announced by Giani in recent days, are the consequence of the increase in Covid cases within the structures of Tuscany. In fact, there are several outbreaks, including that of the RSA Villa Amelia in Prato (53 positives among guests and operators).

ASL Prima announced that as of tomorrow, Friday, October 16, visitors will be banned from all ASL Toscana Centro hospitals except in special cases. In the evening, then, the ASL reversed what was announced in the afternoon. Pending a regional ordinance to regulate access to hospitals, the ASL has decided that visits to patients will be carried out in one shift per day. Only one visitor per patient is allowed during visiting hours and no alternation of family members is allowed during the visit.
The health directors of the corporate hospitals, coordinated by the director of the hospital network Daniela Matarrese, on the recommendation of the Management of the Health Authority explained that they had adopted the new provisions “in consideration of the epidemiological situation to maintain and guarantee a high level of security for people, avoid gatherings and the risk of contagion to ensure essential services, the provision of health services and guarantee the protection of patients and health professionals ”.
Caregivers of people who must perform a health service are not allowed, except for minors, disabled or not self-sufficient and people with linguistic-cultural barriers. In these cases, the assistant’s access will be reported in the patient’s health documentation.
