To counteract the spread of the coronavirus, the municipality of Galati Mamertino, in the province of Messina, becomes a ‘red zone’. This was established by the president of the Sicilian Region Nello Musumeci, in agreement with the Councilor for Health Ruggero Razza, with his own recently signed ordinance that will take effect from 2:00 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday, October 13). The measure became necessary after the report of the offices of the AEP of Messina that confirmed the presence of a group with 88 positive subjects.
Until midnight on October 24 – except for the extensions that will be evaluated based on the epidemiological trend of the virus – in Galati Mamertino it will be prohibited to travel on foot or by any public or private means. Movements will be allowed to go to work, only if smart work is not allowed. Transfers are also authorized for: purchase or consumption of food and basic needs; health reasons; appointment in professional offices.
Any recreational activity is prohibited, as well as walking or parking in public areas (streets, squares, chalets and parks) to avoid any meeting and contact between strangers and people who do not live together. In commercial establishments (bars, grills, poultry, sandwiches and the like) only one person can be accessed at a time and always with the use of personal protective equipment. Takeout and home sales are allowed. Each commercial establishment must close at 9:00 p.m. Restaurants and pizzerias can remain open until 11.00 pm: the owners are, in any case, responsible for the strict control of compliance with the Spacing Guidelines and for the prohibition of sitting at the same table when there are more than six people.
Banquets and parties, public and private of any kind are also prohibited., which involve the simultaneous presence of more than six people. Participation in religious functions is subject to a fee according to a specific Protocol that will be shared between the Municipality and the applicants. For educational and school activities, after agreement with the competent health authority, the Municipality of Galati Mamertino adopts its own ordinance.
The prohibition of movement by any means also applies to people in transit and non-residents of Galati Mamertino. However, it is allowed to cross the municipal territory for the entry and exit of food, health and essential goods or services. In addition, it will be possible for residents or domiciled (even de facto) to transit in and out exclusively to guarantee the activities necessary for the care and rearing of animals and for business activities that cannot be deferred because they are linked to the biological cycle. of the plants.
