(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 12 – The number of Covid infections in Italy has decreased in the last 24 hours: the Ministry of Health bulletin shows that there are 4,619 new cases registered yesterday (837 less than the total increase in yesterday, which was 5,456), but the number of swabs done on the same day is also low: 85,442 compared to 104,658 yesterday and 133,084 done on Friday. The total number of infected people, including those healed and victims, stands at 359,569. Net increase in the number of victims: 39 in one day compared to 26 registered yesterday. The total since the beginning of the emergency amounts to 36,205.

The increase in intensive care admissions due to Covid continues: in the last 24 hours there are 32 new patients in resuscitation, bringing the total to 452.

The number of positive people currently stands at 82,764, with an increase of 3,699 in the last 24 hours: of these, in addition to those in intensive care, 4,821 are hospitalized in orderly wards (+302) and 77,491 are in home isolation (+ 3,355). Finally, the discharged and cured are 891 more than yesterday for a total of 240,600 since the beginning of the emergency.

Among the regions, for the fourth day in a row, Lombardy has the highest increase, with 696 cases. They are followed by Campania (+662), Tuscany (+466), Piedmont (+454), Lazio (+395) and Veneto (+328). No region scores zero new infected. (HANDLE).
