The quick swab (or antigen test) can also be done in your GP or pediatrician’s office. At the moment it is a proposal, but it could soon become a concrete possibility: the Veneto Region unveiled its plan to step up testing and allow more people to take the quick test without having to queue for hours at drive-ins. The quick swab, less “invasive” than the nasopharyngeal, gives the result in 15-20 minutes and at most in 6 hours.
Even in Lazio, where the pilot project for quick swabs in schools began, citizens could soon have the possibility of having a swab at the family doctor, but for the moment the only place to do it is the private structures authorized to cost of 22 euros.
