Dpcm Covid, from soccer to volleyball, here are all prohibited amateur sports. Runner without a mask, unchanged rules for gyms and pools

After a day of cross questioning and controversy, the Viminale clarifies: there is no obligation to wear the mask when training, both in the park and in the stadiums. But in the new decree of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers that the government is preparing to launch there will be many limitations for those who do sport. The proposal of the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, is to prohibit the practice of all contact disciplines at the amateur level. This is because the diffusion of the saliva particles that are expelled with the breath increases during physical activity. Translated: it will not be possible to play soccer (and all its variants) with friends, but matches basket, volleyball, Beach volleyball, me Dance partner me group. Both indoors and outdoors. Impossible to do Speakers (and related disciplines) and, in general, all martial arts.

Covid, Cts: quarantine is reduced to 10 days, only one buffer comes out

The components of the Scientific technical committee they had already asked to intervene to limit these sports to at least an amateur level. And the government now seems oriented to follow this advice. However, there are no limitations for tennis and paddle tennis matches, since in practice it is possible to maintain a safe distance. All sports that can be practiced in isolation, such as jogging, will also continue to be allowed. At least for the moment there will be no more restrictions for gyms and swimming pools, which may continue to carry out their activities according to the regulations already in force: limited tickets and with reservation. Training sessions for professional and non-professional athletes in individual and team sports are allowed behind closed doors, complying with the protocols issued by the respective Sports Federations.

THE DISCUSSION

The ban, therefore, should only affect sports performed at an amateur level. To be clear: the ones that are practiced between friends. On the subject, however, there was a long debate that lasted all afternoon between the CTS, the Minister of Health, Speranza, and the Minister of Sports, Vincenzo Spadafora. The first two were strongly oriented to extend the bans also to amateur leagues and youth sectors, while Spadafora tried to stop. In this case, the initiatives of the promoting bodies would also be saved. It is not a simple matter, since the world of sport is already on the warpath. In fact, a more drastic election would run the risk of bringing grassroots sport to its knees, which is already in serious crisis after the closure.

THE SPECTATORS

However, a fixed point remains in the decree: the limitation for professional and amateur sports that concerns the spectators of the Ministry of Health does not seem negotiable. There was also a long discussion on this point. In the draft proposed by Speranza it was written: “For sporting events and competitions – recognized by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), by the Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP) and by the respective federations, or organized by international sports organizations – it is allowed the presence of the public, with the maximum number of 500 spectators for outdoor sporting events (now there are a thousand, ed) and 100 spectators for indoor sporting events (to date 200, ed). ”This hypothesis, however, seems On the other hand, a maximum filling percentage would be set depending on the size, but the number of presences cannot in any case exceed the “ceilings” currently in force. And the exceptions that have allowed more numerous presences in the last weeks for basketball and volleyball games in the arenas would be substantially prohibited.

THE CONTROVERSY

Regarding the use of the mask during physical activity, however, the clarification came in the middle of the afternoon. The questions, simplifying, were: If I go for a walk, do I have to wear protective equipment? What happens if I run to the park? The answers are yes and no, respectively. In a circular issued in the early afternoon, the Interior Ministry tried to explain to the prefects that only those who practice sports are exempt from the obligation to wear a mask outdoors, while those who perform “physical activities” must wear it. But the clarification, instead of clarifying the doubts, unleashed a series of questions throughout the day about what was understood by “motor activity”, and sparked controversy, including the call to fire made by the leader of Italia Viva, Matteo Renzi, passionate runner, both for the Minister of Health and the Minister of the Interior. So much so that the Ministry of the Interior itself has had to clarify more: “You can continue jogging without the obligation to wear a mask”, even at an amateur level, because they are “attributable to sport.” Instead, the obligation kicks in for those who go out for a walk. “The Interior Ministry issues a circular to clarify the confusing content of the government decree on physical activity and sports and says: running without a mask is prohibited. Chaos broke out and a few hours later the Ministry of the Interior was forced to specify its own circular ”, comments on Facebook the leader of Fdi, Giorgia Meloni.
