Covid Italia, today’s newsletter, October 10, 2020. The growth of coronavirus cases continues in Italy, where today there are 5,724 new positives (yesterday there were 5,372). The dead are 29 (yesterday 28). This is learned from the data of the Ministry of Health. The swabs were 133,084, a new record (yesterday 129,471). Among the regions, Lombardy registers 1,140 new positives, Campania 664.

Hospitalized patients with coronavirus symptoms in Italy increase by 250 units in 24 hours, bringing the total to 4,336, while patients in intensive care are only 3 more in a day, according to data from the Ministry of Health, reaching 390 People in home isolation grow by 4,466 and are now 70,103, while positive people currently reach 74,829 with an increase of 4,719. Finally, 238,525 were discharged and cured, increasing by 976 units.

Lombardy
The increase in coronavirus infections in Lombardy does not stop: in the last 24 hours 1,140 new cases have been registered (of which 75 ‘weakly positive and 8 after serological tests). This is what emerges from the data published by the Region. Two deaths, thus bringing the number of victims to 16,982 since the beginning of the epidemic. As for the swabs made in the last 24 hours, they are 22,910, for a total of 2,330,398. The number of patients healed / discharged is growing to a total of 82,988 (+244), of which 1,445 discharged and 81,543 recovered. Intensive therapy is stable, with 44 hospitalized patients, while 408 (+37) hospitalized patients are not in intensive care.

Campania
There are 664 new cases of coronavirus registered today in Campania. 9,031 swabs were tested. The total number of coronavirus cases in Campania since the beginning of the emergency is 17,897, while the total number of swabs examined is 673,472. The Crisis Unit of the Campania Region announces that there have been 2 deaths related to the coronavirus, and that the total of deaths in Campania since the beginning of the emergency amounts to 477. There are 68 new cured: the total of those recovered is 7,229.
Veneto
The infections are growing strongly even today in Veneto, where 561 new cases of Coronavirus positivity are registered, for a total of 31,065 since the beginning of the epidemic. There are also 7 victims, bringing the number of deaths (among hospitals and nursing homes) to 2,216. This was stated in the bulletin of the Region. In just 48 hours, Veneto experienced an increase of almost 1,200 positives. The isolated subjects amount to 11,625 (+344), of which 3,465 positive for Sars Cov2. 325 people (+21) are hospitalized in normal hospital wards, 29 (-1) in intensive care.
Lazio
Covid Lazio. Of more than 14,000 swabs performed, 348 new positives have been registered in the last 24 hours (387 on Friday). There are 6 dead and 59 healed. There are no new admissions to ICU. “The next few weeks will be decisive. Rome and Lazio are holding up better than other realities, but we must not lower our guard. The hospital network, although under pressure, is currently responding to needs. The Spallanzani Institute is at 60% capacity. 500 places have been activated in assisted hotel facilities for clinically cured cases and for those who have no way to quarantine. The priority is to contain the virus and work on the tracking ”, comments the Regional Minister of Health of the Lazio Region, Alessio D’Amato.

Tuscany
In Tuscany, there are 17,643 cases of coronavirus positivity, 548 more than yesterday (430 identified in the course of screening and 118 from detection activities). New cases are 3.2% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew by 0.3% and reached 10,830 (61.4% of all cases). The tests carried out reached 828,114, 11,237 more than yesterday. The percentage of positives among the 7,878 people examined today is 7%. The current positives are 5,640 today, + 10.1% compared to yesterday. There are 190 hospitalized (20 more than yesterday), of which 30 in intensive care (stable). Today there are no new deaths. The average age of 548 cases at present is approximately 41 years (20% are under 20, 25% between 20 and 39, 37% between 40 and 59, 14% between 60 and 79, 4% are 80 years or older ).

Emilia romagna
There are 383 in Emilia-Romagna, the new cases of coronavirus positivity, in strong growth compared to the last days, since yesterday the increase was 276. Of the new cases 162 are asymptomatic and 145 were already isolated: 22 are related to the return from abroad, 13 from other regions. 13,779 swabs were made and one person died in the province of Parma. The highest numbers are registered in Bologna (60 cases), Modena (53) and Forlì (44). People isolated at home, that is, those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment, constitute 95% of active cases. However, hospitalizations are on the rise, which are 16 in intensive care (+2 compared to yesterday), 241 (+15) in the other Covid departments.
Sardinia
A total of 4,866 positive Covid-19 cases have been detected in Sardinia since the beginning of the emergency. In the latest update of the Regional Crisis Unit, 124 new cases were registered, 96 detected through screening activities and 28 due to suspected diagnosis. The number of victims remains unchanged, 161 in total. In total, 210,707 swabs were performed, an increase of 1,619 tests compared to the last update.
On the other hand, 140 patients are currently hospitalized in non-intensive wards (+7 compared to yesterday’s figure), while 25 (+2) are patients in intensive care. There are 2,506 people in home isolation. The progressive number of positive cases includes 2,011 (+22) recovered patients, plus another 23 clinically recovered. In the territory, of the 4,866 positive cases verified in total, 763 (+19) were detected in the metropolitan city of Cagliari, 577 (+54) in southern Sardinia, 390 (+22) in Oristano, 703 in Nuoro, 2,433 (+29) in Sassari.
Umbria
132 new Covid-19 infections have been detected in Umbria in the last 24 hours, out of a total of 2,173 swabs analyzed. There is also one more victim and the number of hospitalized increases. While there are 21 healed (1,986 in total since the beginning of the pandemic). The currently positive ones – according to the data of the Region updated to October 10 – thus amount to 1,115. The deaths are 88. The confirmed cases of positivity are 3,189. The inmates rose to 64 (one more than yesterday). The number of patients in intensive care is stable (eight). In total, 225,964 swabs have been made to date.
Calabria
‘In Calabria to date 218,830 subjects have been tested for a total of 220,936 swabs performed (further tests can be performed on the same subject). The people who tested positive for Coronavirus are 2,256 (+68 compared to yesterday), 216,574 negative. “It can be read in the Calabria Region newsletter, which registers 696 active cases (yesterday there were 638).
Abruzzo
There are 94 new cases of coronavirus verified in the last hours in Abruzzo: they emerged from the analysis of 2,388 swabs. Of the total number of new cases, 29 refer to the Teramo area, 28 to Aquila, 22 to Pescarese and 10 to Chietino, while five investigations are ongoing at the residence. The number of people admitted to the hospital continues to increase. The new cases are between 4 and 88 years old. The current positive ascent to an altitude of 1,342: 110 people, ten more than yesterday, are hospitalized in non-intensive care and seven (unchanged) are in intensive care, while the other 1,224 are in home isolation. The healed are 3,152 (+2).
Basilicata
There are 42 new positive cases, of which 5 from Puglia in isolation in your region: these are the data from today’s bulletin of the Basilicata Region working group, out of a total of 861 swabs processed yesterday. The positive cases of Lucanian residents refer to Matera (15), Brienza (11), Venosa (3), Lavello, Marsicovetere, Castelsaraceno, Paterno, Miglionico, Marsico Nuovo, Montescaglioso, Grottole (1). On the same day, ten people from Rapolla (2), Ruoti (2), Rionero, Bella, San Severino, Marsico Nuovo, Tito, Potenza (1) were cured. There are 36 (+1) people admitted: in the San Carlo hospital in Potenza there are a total of 31 (18 in the department of infectious diseases, 12 pulmonology, 1 emergency medicine) and 5 in the Madonna delle Grazie hospital in Matera (in infectious diseases).
