Quartesana. A young life torn apart at only 21 years old. A girl from Jolanda di Savoia, Elena Carlini, was the victim of an accident around 7.30 in the morning in via Ponte Rigo at the junction with via Pomposa. Her car went off the road and rolled into the water-filled canal below, trapping the young woman in the cab.

The help of the 118 health workers was useless, since the girl was already deceased upon arrival. To get his body out of the cabin, it was necessary to intervene by the Ferrara firefighters, who later also removed the car from the canal.

According to what was reconstructed by the agents of the Local Police of Terre Estensi, who detected the accident, the 21-year-old would have lost control of the car on a curve, thus ending up in the canal. At that time a bit of fog had also emerged, which may have influenced the accident. The vehicle was noticed by a passerby, a student on a bicycle, who alerted the rescue.

Elena Carlini was well known in Jolanda di Savoia, where she also worked for a time in an ice cream parlor, and now the whole town is mourning her untimely death. “Elena – confirms Mayor Paolo Pezzolato – was known to everyone in Jolanda. We are shocked. We gather around the family in silence ”. The 21-year-old leaves her mother and her mother’s partner. The latter, upon hearing the terrible news, fell ill and was admitted to the Cona hospital.
