The new positives of coronavirus on Friday, October 9 in Lombardy are almost a thousand, precisely 983 of the 25,623 swabs made. This was reported in the daily bulletin on epidemiological data published by Palazzo Lombardia, which specifies that of the 983 newly infected, 77 are “weakly positive” and 11 emerged after a serological test.. The ratio of the number of tampons processed to the highlighted Covid cases is now 3.8%. From the analysis, only one death emerges (total 16,980 since the beginning of the pandemic) and three more people are registered than yesterday admitted to intensive care units (total 44), while in the other departments the growth is 10, for a total of 371.

In the last 24 hours 260 cured / discharged, for a total of 82,744 since the beginning of the health crisis, of which 1,442 discharged and 81,302 recovered. Of the 983 new regional cases, more than half are registered in the province of Milan, of which 258 in the city of Milan..

Here you can find the national data.

Regarding the other provinces, 108 cases were registered in Monza, 107 in Varese, 49 in Bergamo, 45 in Brescia, 34 in Como, 32 in Pavia, 10 in Lecco, 8 in Lodi, 7 in Cremona and 6 in Sondrio.

And after the latest data, the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, in a live broadcast on the Facebook profile on the afternoon of Friday, October 9, invites the Lombards to raise their threshold of attention. «Today, dear Lombards, especially young people, I need your full attention. The trend of the epidemiological curve of Covid-19 in Lombardy is increasing. Right now our situation is better than in other regions, but the numbers are growing. I have to ask you for more attention and responsibility: hand hygiene and a social distancing mask, when you are away from home with your friends or colleagues at work or study. We must protect the fragile and most at risk; be it your parents, friends or grandparents.
I am writing to you in particular because the analysis of the data revealed that unlike what happened at the beginning of the pandemic, now the age group most susceptible to infection is the one between 20 and 29 years old (in March age 70 to 79) and dissemination opportunities are activities related to free time.

“Contrary to what happened in the peak period of expansion of the virus, to a growing number of positives, fortunately we do not see an exponential growth of hospitalizations and intensive care, but this does not reassure us, we must keep our guard up – explains Fontana – . If it is true that our ability to track, isolate and extinguish outbreaks has improved, it is equally true that we still do not know enough about this virus to avoid the danger of the situation rapidly precipitating ”.

«Today I attended one of the ordinary meetings of our” Covid-19 Indicators Commission “, which constantly monitors the situation and I have collected their concern. It was they, who work tirelessly, who highlighted the need to get their attention and help before undertaking any type of restrictive intervention. In the afternoon I also illustrated the situation to the group leaders of the Regional Council so that the awareness-raising action is as broad as possible. This is not the time for divisions and politics must show, as I ask, a great sense of responsibility. If we want this ‘new normal’, as we have often called it, to be less burdensome for everyone, we must all work together.

«On Monday, October 12, I called the regional Scientific Technical Committee to discuss the strategy to follow. Meanwhile, as of this weekend, I recommend that you follow the few rules that have brought us out of the tunnel in recent months: mask, social distancing and hand hygiene », Fontana concludes.
