A 34-year-old woman died of overdose at her home in Milan. To relate yet another tragedy caused by drugs in a city where drug use is high is Gianni Santucci in “Corriere della Sera”, which reconstructs the last moments of the victim’s life. She is a woman “in a career”: a graduate in Economics from the Catholic University, study abroad experiences and various specializations. She spoke three languages, including Arabic, and despite her young age she had already held important positions in multinational firms, investment banks and consulting firms. For about a year she had returned to work for a major Italian bank.

The man who gave you the heroin could be sued

The tragedy that concerns her took place on the night of Sunday, October 4, in via Giambellino. The woman was at home with a 48-year-old acquaintance with a history of dealing. It is he who brought her the drug, the heroin, which proved fatal: it is not yet clear whether the 34-year-old was a frequent drug user or an occasional user, the truth is that after injecting the substance into her vein she began to feel hurt and then lost consciousness. It was the man who was with him who noticed the rescue: when paramedics arrived at the house, however, there was nothing more to do for the 34-year-old. The carabinieri also intervened in the woman’s house and reconstructed what happened on the tragic evening. There appears to be no doubt about the causes or dynamics of the woman’s death, although an autopsy was ordered on her body and the results are now awaited. For the 48-year-old woman who was with her, a complaint could be filed for the purchase of her medications. There remains the drama of another victim from the dark side of a metropolis that, behind the twinkling lights, often hides terrible shadows.
