He was one of the pioneers of heavy metal, famous for his two-handed technique.

Eddie Van Halen, one of two Dutch-born brothers who soon moved to California in the 1970s and gave birth to the hard rock group of the same name, was one of the first to promote the heavy metal genre. His first album, titled “Van Halen”, was released in 1978 and reached number 19 on the Billboard charts, becoming one of the most successful albums of the decade. The death of Eddie, who suffered from throat cancer, was announced on social media by his son. Van Halen’s method of playing the guitar, two-handed, has made a school for decades among hard rock groups. Twelve studio albums recorded by Eddie Van Halen with the band, plus two more live. Considered among the 100 best guitarists of all time, worthy of eighth position by Rolling Stone, and first in general according to the specialized magazine Guitar World.
