Therefore, to date, the platform is installed in approximately 18% of Italian users’ smartphones (excluding those used by children under 14 years of age), but the numbers may already be even higher. In fact, the figure was obtained amid a rather encouraging trend. In the previous six days alone, as of September 25, downloads had exceeded 200,000. Consequently, at a similar rate of growth, it cannot be ruled out that today, Monday, October 5, the application is preparing to reach 7 million. Of course, these are much lower values than expected at the beginning: the goal was to reach at least 60% of the population -, but finally the first remarkable results begin to emerge: 338 positive registered users (always guaranteeing their anonymity), for a total of 5,329 notifications sent.
The reasons for the increase
What is the reason for this increase, after a summer below expectations? It’s hard to say for sure, but factors like going back to school and progressive increase in infections recorded in recent weeks have certainly brought back a too fast virus considered clinically dead. The fear of the second wave is therefore more alive than ever, also thanks to the latest warnings from experts. Furthermore, the repeated appeals of the technical-scientific committee and of the world of politics may have begun to have their first effects. The advertising campaign
However, as mentioned above, for the application to really affect the containment of infections it is necessary that the growth is kept high. That is why the government has devised a promotional campaign that, according to Conte, all the major newspapers should have joined, public and private. Meanwhile, a commercial with Flavio Insinna is already circulating on television, and could be in the works for the next few months. also a marathon style Rai Telethon. Objective: to follow the example of more virtuous countries such as Germany (18 million downloads) and Great Britain (10 million in a few days). And over other nations from October 17 Immuni will begin to communicate with its foreign counterparts, thus creating a kind of unique application.
