Starting today, Saturday, October 3, in Rome tighter controls In view of new ordinance adopted by Lazio region that requires the use of the mask in all public places and open to the public, both indoors and outdoors.
Rule to be kept all hours of the day, except for those who practice sports, for those under 6 years of age and for those with pathologies for which the use of a mask is not recommended.
With the entry into force of the new ordinance, the capital will be “armored”. On the other hand, the Prefect of Rome, Matteo Piantedosi, had anticipated it in recent days, explaining that if the Lazio Region had decided in favor of a tightening of the rules on the use of the mask, the prefecture would have done everything possible to ensure compliance in the territory.
And in this regard, yesterday the plan to be implemented in the capital to monitor compliance with new standards. The decision was made during the provincial public order and security committee; here, in detail, which places will be more under control.

The prefect of Rome decided in favor of two different intervention plans depending on the days of the week. During the weekend, in fact, the Police controls will be concentrated in the areas of the move and in places that attract tourist flows. More controls, therefore, at the entrances to monuments and places of worship, as well as in museums.
However, on weekdays, the checks will be carried out mainly on those days. non-occasional meeting places: think for example in schools, especially in the entry and exit times of students, but also for markets and in public transport interchange areas.
Police controls: risk of a fine of 400 euros for those without a mask
What was decided in the course of the provincial commission of public order and security is intended to prevent meeting creation, in addition to verifying that the new rules contained in the order signed yesterday by Governor Zingaretti are respected.
And in case of need there will be sanctions: for those who do not wear a mask, we remember that it is also mandatory to walk on the street and at any time of the day, the the fine is € 400.00, however, with the possibility of a 30% reduction (€ 120.00 less) if paid within five days.
It must be said, however, that they will be normal controls. There will be no “excesses” and the Army will not be involved, nor will drones or speakers be used. On the other hand, the prefect of Rome wants to emphasize that the control of the territory has never stopped so much that “crimes are decreasing”.
