In Tuscany there are 15,194 cases of positivity for the coronavirus, 223 more than yesterday (87 identified in the course of the screening and 136 from the detection activities). New cases are 1.5% more than the total of the previous day.

The average age of 223 cases today is approximately 37 years (24% are under 20, 33% between 20 and 39, 22% between 40 and 59, 15% between 60 and 79, 6% are 80 years or older ) and, regarding clinical states, 74% were asymptomatic, 20% pauci-symptomatic.

Of the 223 positive cases currently, 4 cases can be linked to returns from abroad. 56% of the cases is a contact linked to a previous case.

Those cured grew 0.6% and reached 10,398 (68.4% of all cases). The swabs performed reached 757,609, 8,873 more than yesterday.

The current positives are 3,631 today, + 4.7% compared to yesterday. There are 127 hospitalized (1 less than yesterday), of which 24 in intensive care (2 more). Today there are no new deaths.

These are the data – verified at 12 noon today based on requests from the National Civil Protection – regarding the advance of the epidemic in the region.

It should be remembered that as of June 24, 2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated according to the province of notification but according to the province of residence or domicile.

The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change compared to yesterday. There are 4,389 cases in total to date in Florence (48 more than yesterday), 914 in Prato (19 more), 1,047 in Pistoia (10 more), 1,539 in Massa (2 more), 1,874 in Lucca (42 more), 1,656 in Pisa (61 more), 771 in Livorno (18 more), 1,186 in Arezzo (5 more), 648 in Siena (6 more), 614 in Grosseto (3 more).

There are 547 positive cases reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions. For 9 cases, information on the place of residence is expected. There are, therefore, 77 cases found today in the ASL Center, 123 in the Northwest, 14 in the Southeast.

Tuscany is confirmed in 10th place in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 407 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average around 526 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure).

The notification provinces with the highest rate are Massa Carrara with 790 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Lucca with 483, Florence with 434, Livorno with 230 the lowest.

In total, 3,504 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms, do not need hospital care or do not have symptoms (164 more than yesterday, 4.9% more).

There are 7,571 (133 more than yesterday, plus 1.8%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance, for having had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 2,499, Northwest 3,856, Southeast 1,216).

People hospitalized in beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 127 (1 less than yesterday, minus 0.8%), 24 in intensive care (2 more than yesterday, more 9.1%).

In total, there are 10,398 people cured (60 more than yesterday, plus 0.6%): 286 people clinically cured (15 more than yesterday, plus 5.5%), that is, they remained asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with Infection and 10,112 (45 more than yesterday, plus 0.4%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swab.

Today there are no new deaths. Therefore, there are 1,165 deaths since the beginning of the epidemic, divided as follows: 420 in Florence, 54 in Prato, 83 in Pistoia, 178 in Massa Carrara, 149 in Lucca, 97 in Pisa, 65 in Livorno, 53 in Arezzo, 33 in Siena, 25 in Grosseto, 8 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.

Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 31.2 x 100,000 residents versus 59.5 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region).

Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (91.3 x 100,000), Florence (41.5 x 100,000) and Lucca (38.4 x 100,000), the lowest in Grosseto (11.3 x 100,000).
