The numbers of the coronavirus epidemic continue to be merciless with Sicily despite the efforts of political and health authorities to contain the infections. It is still a triple digit increase for new island positives, even if there is a slight decrease compared to the previous 24 hours.
After the 170 cases yesterday, in fact, according to the bulletin issued by the Ministry of Health, another 156 infections were registered on the island compared to a substantial number of nasopharyngeal tests carried out: 6,637. And sadly there is a new victim. While throughout Italy there is a significant increase in cases with 2,548 new Sars-Cov-2 infections.
From the Sicilian Region today there has been no communication about the possible presence of migrants among the new positives, so it can be deduced that the 153 new cases all refer to Sicilians. Palermo continues to be the Sicilian city with the most active outbreaks and, therefore, the one with the highest increase in cases: in fact, 88 infections are registered in the Sicilian capital, 20 instead of those diagnosed in Catania, 20 also in Ragusa, then 10 in Messina, 6 in Trapani, 5 in Syracuse, 5 in Agrigento, 2 in Caltanissetta and zero in Enna.
