The CTS has given the green light to the possibility of rapid swabs in schools for screening only. In fact, there was general agreement during the meeting on the draft circular presented by the Ministry of Health, in which it is explicitly stated that “for the sole purpose of screening it is possible to use antigen tests” in schools. The circular was not on the agenda and was illustrated by representatives of the ministry.

The 5 million rapid tests: the government’s plan to use them in schools

Quick swabs would bring millions of exams directly to institutions. The possibility of knowing almost in real time, that is, in about 20 minutes, if a young person tests positive for the coronavirus would give the change to the management of suspected cases. There are regions that have already written protocols in which ASL physicians are expected to enter the school to perform rapid tests on students who feel ill and are placed in isolation.
