The winners, in fact, will have the legal effect of the employment relationship as of September 1, 2020.

The competition date tomorrow it will go to the Official Gazette: it begins on October 22, it will continue until mid-November in a staggered manner. Today the ministry will meet with the unions. Meanwhile, the race against time has begun to find computer rooms in schools, many of which are used for lessons, ensuring distance. It will not be easy in times of health emergency, with positive cases in the classes that have already led the first forty students and teachers (500 classes, it is estimated).

To develop will be the protocol to ensure security. Anti-Covid measures will be implemented within the venue where the computerized test will be carried out: distancing, masks. At the entrance, the temperature will be controlled with the thermo-scanners: those with a fever higher than 37.5 or respiratory symptoms will not be able to access. Professors in quarantine will not be able to participate in the test and at the moment no complementary test would be expected, as happened at the university for the Medicine tests. A not indifferent passage, in social networks the precarious teachers are already concerned: “After seven years of waiting for a competition, maybe they’ll catch a cold?”

The duration is 150 minutes. Candidates must answer five open questions aimed at learning about disciplinary and didactic skills plus a sixth question to understand the English language (level B2).

Where are the places for subjects? Especially in support, which suffers from a chronic shortage of skilled workers: there are 5,669 jobs. And then on literary and scientific issues. There are 3,798 places to teach Italian, history and geography in high school; 3.145 in Math and Science (competition class A028). To teach Italian in secondary school, 1,753 places are required; 1,081 in Motor Science in high school (763 in high school); 1,027 in Mathematics; 987 in English in upper secondary school (plus 747 places in secondary school); 829 in Sciences and Information Technologies; 814 for music in high school; 707 in Mathematics and Physics; 424 in literary and Latin disciplines; 286 in Physics 286.

In general the requests sent there were 64,563. In 67.7% of the cases, the candidates are women. In terms of age, the highest proportion, 43.9%, equivalent to 28,371 candidates, is in the age group 31 to 40 years. 35.2% are between 41 and 50 years old (22,733), 13.8% are over 50 years old (8918), 7% are up to 30 years old (4,541).
The regions for which the most applications have been submitted are Lombardy (12,385), Tuscany (5,923) and Emilia Romagna (5,824).
