Last year we had to wait until November 6. With the sunken thermometers, the first snowfalls reached the peaks of Forlì. The cold and unstable currents of the North Atlantic, which in the last 36 hours have pushed from the Nordic countries towards the central Mediterranean, have forged a cold depression in the circulation in the immediate vicinity of Italy. The latter has caused, on the one hand, irregular rains, gusts of wind and a sharp drop in temperature, responsible for the return of snow in the Apennines.

The first flakes in Burraia, at around 1400 meters, began to fall around 2, as documented on the Facebook page “Meteo-PedemontanaForlivese”. Around 3 am, the first clear white veil at an altitude of 1,360 meters, while the precipitation was more constant above 1,500 in Monte Falco. Waking up quite bright even on the plains: on Sunday morning, at 9 o’clock, the mercury column showed 12.2 ° C. And in the next few hours a significant worsening of atmospheric conditions is expected. Civil Protection has activated a yellow alert.

A minimal depression that forms in the upper Adriatic will disperse abundant rains in the next few hours, with the risk of storms. Snow is expected beyond 1400 meters. The Arpae meteorological service estimates between 20 and 40 millimeters of rain in the plain and between 40 and 60 in the reliefs. The phenomena will tend to disappear already during the night. In fact, on Monday the awakening will be with an irregularly cloudy sky, tending to clear or partially cloudy already in the afternoon. Minimum temperatures are expected to be around 11 ° C, while maximum temperatures will not exceed 19 ° C.
