Another 125 infections in Sicily, one death and 2,000 in isolation

PALERMO – New positive cases in Sicily on the Covid-19 front. In detail, those indicated in the bulletin issued by the Ministry of Health are 125 more than yesterday. Among them are two migrants who are guests of the Lampedusa hotspot.

Hospitalizations and tampons on the island

237 people are hospitalized with symptoms across the island, 16 of those who required hospitalization in intensive care units. 2208 people are in home isolation. The death toll is currently 304, one more than yesterday. In 24 hours, 5169 swabs were made, the current positives in Sicily are 2461, a figure that brings the total number of cases in the region to 6359 since the start of the pandemic.

Palermo continues to be the most affected area with 56 new cases, followed by the provinces of Catania with 31 cases and Trapani with 17. There were also 6 cases in Messina, 5 in Caltanissetta and Agrigento, 3 in Syracuse and 2 in Enna. There are 75 healed today.

National data

Positive coronavirus patients continue to increase in the rest of Italy. According to data released by the Ministry of Health, in the last 24 hours there was an increase of 1,786 cases (+146 compared to yesterday) over a new record of swabs made: 108,019. The total number of infected people, including victims and those cured, amounts to 304,323. The increase in victims is also increasing: from 20 yesterday to 23 today for a total of 35,781. In no region are there zero cases.

The positives currently in Italy are 46,780, 666 more than yesterday. The daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health also confirms the sustained growth of those hospitalized in ordinary wards -today there are 2,731, 127 more than Tuesday-, of patients in intensive care, 2 more than yesterday for a total of 246, and of the home isolation which is now 43,803, an increase of 591 in the last 24 hours. On the other hand, the increase in one day in the number of discharged and recovered was 1,097, for a total of 221,762.
