Campania President Vincenzo De Luca has signed an ordinance that reintroduces the obligation to wear the mask even outdoors, to counter a new growth in coronavirus infections. The obligation to wear the mask outdoors was removed on June 22.

The decision was made after yesterday, September 23, Campania was the Italian region with the highest number of daily infections, with a weekly incidence rate of 24 cases per 100,000 inhabitants: yesterday there were 22 people hospitalized in intensive care rooms, 356 in ordinary rooms and 4,689 in home isolation.

The ordinance establishes the obligation to wear the mask outdoors, throughout the day, regardless of interpersonal distance. The obligation for children under six years of age, for those with pathologies incompatible with the use of the mask and during the individual exercise of motor or sports activity is excluded.
