Alassio. Tragedy in Alassio, where this morning a man was run over by the Intercity 655 train that left Ventimiglia and headed for Milan.

As has been found, the episode occurred around 5.30 this morning at the level crossing of the Hotel Majestic. After being hit by the convoy, the man was dragged several tens of meters down the tracks.

The 118 operators and volunteers from the Red Cross of Alassio immediately intervened at the scene, but there was nothing more to be done by the man. Firefighters are also on site.

The dynamics of the accident are still under consideration, but for the moment the voluntary gesture hypothesis remains the most accredited.

The man was not carrying any personal documents, so his identification is still ongoing.

The rail traffic between Andora and Alassio is suspended from 5.40 am. The 20 passengers continued their journey with a bus provided by Trenitalia and replacement service is active on the stretch, awaiting the usual finds.
