Already in the morning some areas of the region were affected by strong local phenomena. A storm cell affected the western part of the Genoa province and the easternmost part of the Savona area: the Lerca station marks an accumulated hourly rate of 60 mm (34 in 30 minutes, 19.6 in 15 minutes), the de Sciarborasca 46.2 while Savona Istituto Nautico accumulated 40 millimeters of which 10.2 in 5 minutes and Sanda (Celle Ligure) 36.2. At 1 pm moderate rains affect the Genoese Ponente and, locally, the interior of Imperia.
The first disturbed step will affect us until the central time tomorrow, Wednesday, September 23: storms, in the afternoon and at night, will be possible throughout the region. In the center east, affected by an intense flow from the southwest, showers and storms, even of strong intensity, will continue until the central hours of tomorrow, as already mentioned. And always tomorrow, episodes of instability will continue to be possible while, on Thursday 24, a more substantial worsening is expected. In fact, the southwest flow will intensify with a possible convergence, always in the center-east, with winds from the southeast; here, therefore, that in addition to generalized rains, even strong or organized electrical storms can occur. High probability of strong or organized electrical storms in all areas: phenomena more likely to start from the Central Ponente, later intensifying and extending to the Levant . Winds from the south, southwest with possible gusts in the afternoon of up to 50-60 km / h in particular in the exposed garments and in the reliefs.
Wednesday September 23: between night and morning high probability of strong or organized storms in zones B, C and E. Low probability of strong storms in A and D with possible localized flooding. Possible specific damage from isolated gusts of wind or tornadoes, hail and lightning, small landslides. Strong winds from the south, southwest with possible gusts of up to 50-60 km / h, particularly on exposed clothing and on hills. The sea is very rough at night due to a wave from the southwest. Thursday September 24: from the central hours a new increase in instability with rains and generalized thunderstorms; high probability of strong or organized phenomena in all areas.
