Regional elections 2020, the data
The electoral law, which regulates regional voting in the Marche region, dates back to 2015 and provides for a single round without the possibility of voting. The candidate who gets one point more than his rivals is elected governor. The 2015 electoral law reduced the number of seats in the regional council from 42 to 30. Each constituency elects a variable number of candidates (9 in Ancona, 7 in Pesaro, 6 in Macerata, 4 respectively in Ascoli and Fermo). The majority prize consists of 16 seats if the winner obtains a percentage of votes of 34 to 37%; the seats become 17 if the consensus is between 37 and 40% and 18 if the winner obtains more than 40% of the votes. In the Marche region, there is a threshold of 5% or 3% if the coalition has reached this figure on average throughout the region; no separate vote is foreseen. Last updated: 18:07
