“Attention, false job advertisement in Varese”

interview

We received and published the testimony of one of our readers, who came across a fake job advertisement.

Dear editorial team,

I am Valentina, I am 41 years old and I am writing about a very unpleasant incident related to a fake job advertisement.
A few days ago, on September 11, I responded to an advertisement for a management secretary search for a construction company on an online platform to search for work. (The reader has already reported the fake ad to the platform, ed.)

I’m honest in saying that I really didn’t know who this company was, I just thought the ad type was interesting.

A few days later they contact me for an interview, to be precise on 09/16 they call me at noon for an interview that same afternoon in Varese.
The phone call seemed a bit strange to me and above all I couldn’t hear very well, but having referred to the construction company I understand that it was about this ad. Me
They told me to go to via Mercadante in Varese and to call back when I arrived for more precise information (in what way?). To accompany a curriculum vitae (but haven’t I already sent it to you?). I started to get a little suspicious and called again shortly after with the excuse of asking for information and they answered me; well, then I convince myself to introduce myself. When I get to via Mercadante I call and they tell me to go to via Indipendenza at 3, the next street. (Why did you give me the wrong address?) I have to call again because I can’t find any reference on the doorbell and they tell me to ring the intercom with a different message than the announcement.
Anyway I go upstairs and they receive me in a very nice office, quite naked but neat and clean, by two young ladies who ask me for my CV. There are two girls with me. Shortly after, a very well dressed young man calls me. He tells me about the opening of a new company headquarters in Varese (which is based in Vicenza), after the post-covid boom. They had a 34% increase and are looking for 4 figures. He would be nominated for manager and would have to coordinate the new team. My experience as an owner leads me to have a 360 degree preparation in office management, I am in line with the position. It seems like too quick and easy an interview. There are no very specific questions about my abilities, but he tells me that the investigation is urgent and that they would contact me in two days for a “test” day.
I leave quite satisfied, convinced that I have left a good impression and above all that I have a good chance of being selected in a position that would really interest me a lot. But the call does not come and it surprises me a little. I decide to call, I can’t miss this opportunity without even fighting!
…surprise! The phone is disconnected, the number does not exist.
…but how??? … I call my husband and we do a search … the number 03321844007 is reported as a scam on tellowus. The company always uses this modus operandi to recruit potential candidates to be sent to sell leads for electricity contracts.
The company is run by the man who interviewed me and who at least introduced himself to me with another last name. There is no transportation company or management duties.
They didn’t call me because he clearly understood that I would never agree to do the door-to-door junk sale.
I read about countless amazing experiences. Whoever is called for the famous test is sent with a stranger 50/60 km from Varese to sell garbage from these contracts, finding themselves in unlikely situations with many calls to the brigade, etc.
Researching this company and this man I found many testimonies.
I already find that the work itself cools the door-to-door sales of contracts that are always a scam for the poor naive who sign. In the agency there were a lot of kids who always showed up with the usual little trick learned by heart and I always rejected them. Inside myself I have always thought: poor, but how did they end up doing this job?
Now I understand how it all begins: I did not fall into the trap, at least not until the end. But I can’t tolerate that there is a company so he posts flirty ads, fooling those like me who are in real trouble, wasting time and money.
This individual has my data in hand and I am sure he will not make good use of it, he has made fun of me and like me he has been making fun of many people looking for an honest job for at least a year. The less experienced will also fall into the trap and find themselves doing something they probably don’t care about. I would like to see the contracts proposed by this man!
I would very much like you to shed some light on this aspect of the world of work. These ads seem to be getting more and more frequent. And no, we don’t need this shit too!
