Contagions, the “case” Sappada – Health

It all started at the beginning of September from an asymptomatic tourist who later infected the other subjects both directly and indirectly and that is why now Sappada is the municipality in the region with more positives than the number of inhabitants. To be exact, 15 people tested positive for coronavirus and 23 quarantined out of the 1,300 residents of the mountain municipality, figures that are decidedly consistent compared to the individual municipalities of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The first outbreaks broke out in two hotels where even service personnel were quickly isolated by the health authorities without compromising the functioning of the accommodation facilities. The municipal administration of Sappada constantly monitors the evolution of the health situation with special attention to school activities.

But tourism is where the biggest concerns lie despite Sappada registering the same number of vacationers this summer as it did last season. Sappada tour operators try to spread that feeling of health security through initiatives extended to the entire resident population. A closing of the season that in any case guarantees a fair presence of tourists in September, not at all scared by the news of the press.
