Among all the Regions, only Basilicata has zero cases. Less than 200 units also in Liguria (158), Piedmont (127) and Emilia-Romagna (121).
Report number: 2,397 active outbreaks in Italy, 698 new “Outbreaks are reported in almost all provinces and all Autonomous Regions and Provinces reported at least one new outbreak in the follow-up week.” This is what emerges from the monitoring of the coronavirus by the Ministry of Health and the Higher Institute of Health regarding the week of September 7 to 13. “In the follow-up week, a total of 2,397 active outbreaks were reported, of which 698 new ones (the adopted definition of outbreak foresees the identification of 2 or more positive cases linked to each other), both increasing for the seventh consecutive week (in the week of previous follow-up 2,280 active outbreaks had been reported, of which 691 were new) “. In Italy, the report continues, we observe a “slow and progressive worsening of the epidemic, although with a more contained trend than that observed in other European countries.”
Increase in average age – In our country there has also been an increase in the average age, which goes to 41 years and 35% of new infections affect people over 50 years of age. This is probably due to transmission from the youngest population to the most frail or elderly, especially within the family. All this is reflected, reports the ISS, “in a greater commitment to hospital services.”
“Ready for more action” – The presence of “important warning signs linked to an increase in local transmission” of the coronavirus is also confirmed. For now, the data confirm the advisability of maintaining the prevention and control measures already adopted and being prepared to activate new interventions in the event of further deterioration ”. The authorities recommend that the population pay “special attention to the risk of contracting the infection in crowded situations in which the recommended measures are not observed and during periods of stay in countries or areas with greater viral circulation”.
