In Italy there are 294,932 cases of coronavirus since the start of the pandemic: +1,907 compared to yesterday when they were +1,585 (+1,452 on September 16). A figure that had not been reached since April 30, when the daily infections had been 1,872. The death toll stands at 35,668: +10 compared to yesterday when they were +13 (+12 the day before). The swabs processed in the last 24 hours were 99,839 (for a total of 10,246,163): down from 101,773 yesterday (they were 100,607 on September 16). This is what emerges from the data of the Ministry of Health and Civil Protection.
Those cured continue to grow until reaching 216,807 (+853). It also increases the number of positives currently, which is now 42,457 (+1,044). The pressure on hospitals is also growing with the number of hospitalized patients returning to 2,387 (+39) – we must go back to last June 21 to find a similar figure: at that time there were 2,314 – and that of patients in intensive care who drops to 208 (-4). The positives in home isolation are 39,862 (+1,009).
Regions with zero infections
Today, Basilicata can boast zero new infections: 3 for Molise, followed by all other regions. The highest number of new infections was registered in Lombardy with 224 cases (yesterday 281), followed by Campania with 208 cases (yesterday 195), Lazio with 193 (yesterday 181), Sicily with 179 (yesterday 96), Veneto with 176 (yesterday 109), Liguria with 158 (yesterday 40).
Lombardy
In Lombardy, the most affected region, the cases of coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic are 104,304: +224 precisely compared to yesterday, when they were +281. There are 16,828 daily mattresses (bringing the total to 1,906,689), down from 21,757 yesterday (17,831 on September 16). The percentage of positives with respect to the number of swabs is 1.33%.
The total of deaths amounts to 16,908: +2 compared to yesterday, when they were +1 (and +2 the day before). The number of healed and discharged continues to increase: 78,369 (+129). The number of hospitalized patients grows: 284 (+12) and the number of patients in intensive care remains stable: 32.
