Coronavirus in children: “You need a swab for a certificate, the symptoms cannot be distinguished”

It is impossible to distinguish the symptoms of the coronavirus in a child from those of a common flu syndrome. “Only the hyssop can give certainty”explains Fabio Campo, provincial secretary of the Fimp (Italian Federation of Pediatricians) in an interview with Alessandra Turrisi in the Giornale di Sicilia on newsstands.

And for a whole school year, made up of colds and flu, the pediatrician explains when the Covid procedure is triggered. “It is activated when there is a persistent and unexplained fever, which raises concern.”

What happens if after 3 days the baby has no more symptoms? “I verify that all is well with a visit. But to have a certificate you need the swab, necessarily, to clear any doubt. The truth is that in Sicily there is no adequate structure to withstand the pressure of the very high amount of tampons that will have to be made ”.
