There are 1,585 new coronavirus infections in Italy, above the data of September 16 (1,452), but the swabs made in one day continue to increase: they are 101,773 (yesterday 100,607) (LIVE UPDATES – THE SPECIAL). The total number of cases is 293,025 and the victims 13 in the last 24 hours, for a total of 35,658. This is the image that emerges from the data of the bulletin of the Ministry of Health of September 17. The number of people admitted to intensive care is 212, 5 more than the previous day. In the case of intensive care, however, the very different trend compared to previous months is confirmed: the percentage of positives admitted on April 4 was 4.5%, while on September 17 it was 0, 5%. According to the ISS, “although the number of cases reported daily is numerically similar to that reported at the end of February 2020, the epidemiological phase is completely different.”

The victims, in total, are 35,658, with 13 deaths in the last 24 hours (yesterday 12). The cured, again in the last 24 hours, are 689, for a total of 215,954. Those hospitalized with symptoms are 2,348 (+63). In contrast, 38,853 people are in home isolation (+813). Tampons totaled 10,146,324, an increase of 101,773 compared to Sept. 16. The cases analyzed are so far 6,127,243, net of how many swabs have been performed. The Sicilian Region announces that of the 96 new positive cases today, 2 are migrant hosts in the Lampedusa hotspot. The Calabria region announces that of the 16 new positive cases today, 3 are migrants. The Abruzzo Region announces that today there are 33 new positive cases. However, 2 cases from the last days were subtracted from the total, since they are in charge of other Regions.
