And it is one of the great vocations of our land. Rome and the entire region are a natural ecosystem in this sector, and today they already represent more than 40% of all national pharmaceutical exports, with leading-edge research centers on the European scene such as the Spallanzani Institute and important international players also in the sector. private. The Lazio Region is ready to do its part in this proposal. But it takes teamwork. Therefore, I hope a consensus of all political forces and institutions for the good of our city. The results obtained thanks to the action of the Region show that we can do it. When in a position to do so, Roma wins and can still express enormous potential. We only think about the centrality of our capital in the fight against Covid.
We think of the extraordinary work of the Spallanzani Institute, which in recent months has been a fundamental reference for the entire country and with which the Region is now collaborating to advance the public vaccine against the virus. This is precisely the point: when institutions are present, have a vision, invest, the city responds and is the protagonist. I also think of the many opportunities that, again thanks to the commitment of the Lazio Region, we have managed to take advantage of in other territories, but that will also bring benefits to Rome. These days, the DTT (Divertor Tokamak Test) has entered the operational phase at the Enea Center in Frascati, where solutions to produce energy from nuclear fusion will be tested.
A large avant-garde project in the world that has the collaboration of the Lazio Region, the ministries of Economic Development and University and Research, Enea, Eni and other partners with an investment of 600 million euros by Europe, which It will bring infrastructure, employment, skills, innovation.
