“My father, who has been hospitalized in Brotzu for a month, I cannot hug him and be close to him: why deprive the sick of love?” Francesca Peddio tells Casteddu Online what a moving symbolic story is in Cagliari in times of Covid: “My father responds well to therapies, but having no family by his side, he lets go, refuses to feed. Always negative for tampons. He was an exemplary man, honest and loyal to duty, a great father, deeply loved by me and for all these reasons I cannot accept that he is deprived of our love and support ”.
It is an almost desperate call, the one that comes from Francesca’s voice and her eyes full of tears: “Normally I do not like to flaunt my feelings – explains the girl – and I do not like to share my private facts especially when they are a source of suffering and they refer to people dear to me … However, unfortunately in this case I feel morally obliged to report this fact. My father has been hospitalized for a month in serious condition in Brotzu hospital, not for Covid, of always negative for hyssop, but for bacterial sepsis. Initially he was able to receive a visit from my sobbing mother. Currently, according to a regional decree, no one can visit their loved ones … so obviously he does not have the support and adequate support from loved ones while responding well to therapies and is getting carried away by refusing to feed. We have no way of communicating with him and making him feel like we are there and like us. others, many people encourage it. We cannot personally determine his condition and we feel powerless. He was an exemplary, honest and obedient man, a great father, deeply loved by me and for all these reasons I cannot accept that he is deprived of our love and support.
I will make this post public on purpose because regardless of what you may think about the Covid emergency, I believe that a solution can be found that guarantees the health of patients but also their dignity.
Daddy be strong, I’m always with you. My words are not controversial with the health personnel, on the contrary, they are doing everything possible to help him ”.
