“I was afraid not to do it, but I also passed this test.” This is what Silvio Berlusconi does in an interview with Corriere in which he talks about the days of hospitalization and then makes a call to vote next Sunday. “The hardest moments were the first three days in the hospital – says the leader of Forza Italia – I had pain everywhere”. And on the referendum and the regional ones at the gates he asks Italians not to miss the opportunity to express their sovereignty. “In referendums as in elections, the people decide how fair and healthy it is in a democracy,” he explains.
Speaking of the illness, he says that “the hardest moments were the first three days in the hospital. I had pain everywhere ”.
Now, he continues, “I feel very tired, exhausted. This is the Covid feature; I feel close to the pain of many families who, like mine, have experienced this terrible disease. I feel even closer to those who have lost a loved one ”. Among the many messages of affection received, “the phone call from the President of the Republic, who represents the nation, sums them all up.” But “I must say that, as in the past, I have never stopped trusting in the help of God and in the great competence of doctors and health personnel. This is the advice that I address to all sick people: do not get carried away, never lose hope of recovery. Covid can be defeated. “
On the risk of a new blockade: “The case of Israel shows that danger is just around the corner. But we must absolutely avoid it. A second wave would be an unprecedented humanitarian, health and economic catastrophe.
That is why we all have the duty to respect the regulations to prevent infections with the utmost rigor ”. About going back to school and government work “there is a lot of confusion. The schools had to reopen, that is evident, but in safe conditions, which objectively do not exist today ”.
If there is success for the center-right in the regional, “we will have a good government and it will be confirmed that the majority of the current government is not the majority of the country. We do not set limits. We could also win anywhere ”. The reform on the court of parliamentarians should be done “without a doubt” in another way: “Thus done, the cut of parliamentarians is only a reduction of the spaces of representation, of democracy. For this reason, Forza Italia has allowed the freedom to vote; however, I think I can ask all Italians to vote – he observes, quoting Plato – so as not to miss the opportunity to express their sovereignty. The future of the country is at stake, the future of our children ”.
