It is a fire of enormous proportions, which broke out before 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14: about 150 square meters of ceiling in smoke, the extinguishing operations lasted more than three hours.
The Bergamo Central fire department, the Dalmine detachment, the Gazzaniga volunteers and the Romano di Lombardia volunteers intervened in a fire on the roof of a house in Villa di Serio. It is a three-storey villa in the middle of the forest, in via Valeria, accessible only by a dirt road of about 300 meters.
The fire was of enormous proportions, which broke out before 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14 and lasted for more than three hours: about 150 square meters of ceiling, the entire roof, were destroyed and the upper floor was considered unusable. However, no one was injured and fortunately it does not appear that the fire caused structural problems that could compromise the usability of the building.
From the first reconstruction, the fire would have started from the fireplace. Many firefighting vehicles intervened: the dirt road was not passable by the tanker trucks that remained at the entrance to the street while the smaller vehicles went from the barrel to the village and vice versa.
